…the Selection Process:

New Jersey Monthly Magazine teamed up with Five Star Professional to conduct a very extensive research study looking to find Wealth Professionals that are proven to provide their clients with exceptional service. They reach out by phone and mail to all FINRA representatives, all brokers dealers, and Investment Advisor Representatives to nominate a Wealth Manager they feel provides exceptional service to clients.

Once all the nominations are compiled, Five Star Professional contacts the nominees to start an extensive review process – There are 10 objective criteria that each nominee is scored against.

Those 10 objective criteria are: Credentialed as an Investment Advisor Representative, FINRA representative, CPA, or a licensed attorney, a minimum of 5 years in the financial service industry, favorable regulatory and complaint history, fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards, accepting new clients, one year client retention, five year client retention, assets administered, number of clients households served, education/professional designations.

As a final step, Five Star Professional surveyed 1 in 12 high net worth households (31,167consumers) to uncover positive and negative experiences with their wealth manager.

There are over 41,500 registered financial advisors in the state of New Jersey.
4049 candidates were nominated and only 739 award winners were chosen for 2013.

This represents less than 2% of all Wealth Managers in the region!
